Our policy
Every fact on NewsIntel should match the public record it links to. When one does not, we fix it or remove it, and we say so on this page.
A correction is listed with the date, the page and what changed. We do not quietly edit facts after they are shown.
How to report an error
Write to corrections@newsintel.org. Please include:
- the link to the page;
- the fact that is wrong;
- what the source record says, or a link to a newer record.
Corrections address
What happens next
An editor reads the source record and then does one of three things:
- fixes the fact, when we copied it wrong or matched the record to the wrong company;
- removes the fact, when it cannot be checked against the record;
- keeps the fact, when it matches the record, and writes back to say why.
We reply by email either way.
What we check
The record itself, its date and the company it was matched to.
When the record itself is wrong
We show what the public record says. If an employer or a company files a corrected notice or an amended 8-K, we add it to the timeline next to the first one. A record held by a state agency or the SEC can only be changed by them.
